The Lady or the Lion?
There was one a kingdom. This kingdom was filled with ferocious animals that everyone feared. The king of this kingdom was able to capture the most ferocious of lions. His daughter was one of the most beautiful people that the world had ever seen. The kitchen boy soon gave his heart to her and she gave hers to him. One day they were seen together in the city market. The king became angry and threw the boy in jail. In 2 weeks time he would have to chose his fate. There would be two doors. One would have a woman more beautiful than the princess and the other would have the lion behind it. The princess worked night and day, bribing the guards to tell her what is behind which door. Finally, the day before the trial, she found out the secret behind the doors.
The next day she sat at her thrown, looking down apon the boy. He looked up at her, his eys asking which door he should chose. Her heart burst with the choice that she has to make.
Should she chose to let her love have the girl more beautiful than her? If so he would surely fall in love with her, and then she would be left to see then every day. To see hen in love and maybe even have a child. How could she bare it?
or should she feed her love to the beast? Should she rather let her love die than let him belong to another. To be condemned to that annoying and petulant girl forever?
Finally after thinking for a long time she finally made a movement. So small that only he could see. He smiled and chose the door...
But which door did she tell him to chose? The Lady or the Lion?
What do you think?

Re: The Lady or the Lion?
I've heard this one before!
I'm not going to guess, because the point is not to know.
It's the two sides of human nature. Every person would struggle with that choice and the point is "What would humans on a whole choose".
It's one of my favourite fairy tales, though.

Re: The Lady or the Lion?
Well, I'll guess. Since this is a fairy tale, and they usually tell morales, the princess probably chose the beautiful women.

That was my opinion.
That the point is not to know.

Re: The Lady or the Lion?
Woah. This seriously got me thinking.
Either way, the princess would suffer.
The lion would kill her love.
The beautiful lady would steal her love.
Either way, it's a painful choice.
But I would have to say the lady. Why? Because she can always fall in love again, just as her love would. Or maybe he wouldn't fall in love with her? And maybe he would still love the princess?
Jeezum. My head hurts now.

He might die with the lion or fall in love with the lady. But I'll say the lady 'cos he can close his eyes, cover his ears etc
