Well, about the whole long posts thing:

Good role players are supposed to write long, detailed posts. It gives the other role players something to reply to.

I'd prefer writing a long, exciting post rather than typing something like "Bob ran. He stopped, a noise entering his ears. He turned to face a very tall man."

It helps you improve, and actually think about what you're typing and such.

But that's just me. (:

Well here's my truth. I never knew there were roleplays like that! I thought they all were short, because I am very new to roleplaying and I'd never done one with long posts before. So I am extra excited to try it out. If everyone writes long than it shouldn't be too difficult.

Anyways. Yes, it's good to have a challenge in a roleplay. It helps you improve in short-term stuff rather than screwing up in the long run and blahh.
