The Unwanted Puppy
So this is my first poem that really tells a story. Though it's not a happy story. Sad story D: D: poor puppy. Anyways......
I am just a little pup
Not but a few weeks old
I fit inside a little cup
When to him I was sold.
A ribbon tied around my neck
A name tag on my collar
He ties me to the deck
And begins to holler
A woman appears next to me
All happy and with joy
A happy family I do see
I wag my tail, oh boy!
After some time
The woman is gone
I sit and I whine
And pace on the lawn
My stomach rumbles
The man does not care
Around he stumbles
Like I’m not there
He’s never home
So lonely am I
So very alone
I could just cry.
I miss my mom
Where could she be?
Where had she gone,
Had she left me?
The man comes inside
And slams the front door
I run to hide
I’ve seen this before
He gets really mad
And doesn’t feed me
I think I’ve been bad,
What else could it be?
And then one day
He takes me for a ride
He tells me to stay
And leaves me outside.
Back in his car
He drives away
So terribly far
I sit, and I stay
I wait for him
With great loyalty
But my chances are dim
He does not love me
I walk away slow
Tail between my legs
I do not want to go
But it doesn’t help to beg
I wander the dark street
Looking for a home
A family to meet
A place to call my own
On the cold ground
Outcast and unwanted
Curled up in a mound
With dreams I am haunted
I sit and I wait
For someone to care
Change my grim fate
I give you this dare
I am just a little pup
