Windstrom Boarding School Empty Re: Windstrom Boarding School

Post by Hazel Sun Dec 18, 2011 12:22 am

CHARACTERS:

Name: Ella Jayne Thomas
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: She has curly dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, pink lips, dark eyelashes as well as a narrow pointed chin, white skin, and thin eyebrows. She’s short at 5’3 and only weighs 105 pounds. She is normally seen wearing something expensive, and likes make-up as long as it looks natural.
Personality: Spoiled, princess Ella is the only child of two wealthy parents. She’s never had to work a day in her life, and has had everything handed to her the moment she wanted it. Insufferably selfish, she’s grown up the queen of her world. It’s Ella’s way or the highway.
History: Ella’s parents tried having a baby for years. Just as they were about to give up, they were blessed with a baby girl. Overjoyed they spoiled their daughter, well knowing they’d never have another. Ella’s their “little miracle.” From birth Ella was put on a pedestal by her parents and never hesitated to abuse her power.
Reason: Ella’s parents are now having a hard time controlling their pampered daughter, and can no longer keep up with her demands. All they wanted was their only child to be happy but Ella seems anything but. She’s impatient and has a quick temper. She often gets at trouble with her teachers since she expects them to act like her parents, and when they aren’t, she’s rude and disrespectful. Her parents, don’t know how to tell her no. They sent her to a school farther away in hopes that strangers would have better luck.

Played By: Hazel

Name: Aubrey Elizabeth Avery
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: She has long brown hair, and dark blue eyes, as well as light skin, and a rather round face. She’s 5’5 and 120 pounds. She likes to dress in layers, often time hardly matching.
Personality: Aubrey is an attention seeking adrenaline junkie. She’s easily bored, and when she is, she’ll do anything for excitement. Anything involving sitting down is horribly boring. If there’s a party around, Aubrey is the first one there. She loves the outdoors and animals when she’s around them, it’s the only time she feels her life is uncomplicated.
History: Aubrey is the second born and youngest in her family. She hates and resents her perfect older sister who her parents seem to adore. When precious Emma comes home with straight A’s and a group of pleasant and polite friends, who cares about Aubrey with her D’s and C’s? Aubrey is always hearing about how she ought to be more like Emma. For this, Aubrey hates Emma, and does everything possible she can to be the exact opposite. She stops trying in school, quits the sports team, and starts hanging around with kids she knows her parents wouldn’t approve of.
Reason: When Aubrey’s parents caught her smoking, they knew then to be concerned, but brushed it off as a rebellious teenager act. But once she was expelled from two different schools, they were at a loss for what to do. Their daughter was completely out of their control, and they no longer had any say in what Aubrey did. They tried everything from grounding her to kicking her out of the house, but nothing worked. Sending her away to a boarding school, was their only last hope.

Played By: Hazel

Name: Noah Alexander Clarke
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Dark wavy hair that comes down to the ears, dark brown eyes, and white skin. He’s 5’11 and 145 pounds.
Personality: Noah is anything but a social butterfly. He’s so quiet in fact, that many people forget he’s even around. Though observant and smart, he puts his talents to use doing things other than school work. In and out of juvie a few times, he’s seen as a trouble maker. They say it’s always the quiet ones, and Noah has made that a truth. He’s mostly a loner in his crime ways, doing nothing to impress others, but just to do it.
History: He came from a family of one older brother and a younger sister. He grew up in an average middle class happy family, until the death of his older brother. They were close, and when he died, Noah sort of went his own way. His parents were concerned with his silence, but thought nothing much of it since he’d always been quiet. But when he started getting in trouble with the school and the law, they were at a loss.
Reason: Noah’s parents tried therapy, but after two months of Noah refusing to say a word, it was hopeless. They also tried medication, in thinking that he was depressed, but he refused to take it. All he wanted was to do his own thing and be left alone. Unfortunately, everything he sought to do was always illegal. His parents, had no way of stopping him, and they’re concerned because next year he’ll be tried as an adult. They’re hoping the school can straighten him out before his eighteenth birthday so he never does anything to land him in prison.

Played By: Hazel

Name: Rowan Marcus Williams
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Short dark hair, average height and weight, blue eyes.
Personality: He’s fairly friendly and generally well liked. He doesn’t take lightly to any sort of cheating, bullying, backstabbing etc, so is seen as rather a stand up sort of person. Though this no nonsense attitude definitely leaves some resentful and annoyed feelings towards him. He’s honest and straight to the point. Is somewhat of a busy body and likes to keep active.
History: Rowan is the youngest of a family of police. Both parents and grandparents were cops, and his oldest brother Forrest is in the police academy, and is somewhat of the golden child who can do no wrong. His older sister Sage, ran off a year ago and become somewhat of the black sheep of the family. After learning she went to New York to pursue a career in modeling, the family all but disowned her. Rowan still keeps in contact with her despite not being allowed to. It was no secret that everyone expected Rowan to follow the family tradition. There is extra pressure on him now because of his sister. His parents are afraid he will do the same and leave, so their rules are extra strict and he’s barely allowed to do anything. He was proud of his family background, and wanted to live up to the expectations, but the overly strict parenting that resembles that of a prison, he feels slightly rebellious when it comes to things he’s not supposed to do. He knows and understands that some of the rules are to protect him, but many of them are so over the top he doesn’t have a chance to do anything.
Reason: Rowan befriends a few kids at school, who he suspects might be a little troubled. He knows his parents wouldn’t approve which is half the reason he agrees to go out with them one night. He wasn’t expecting them to do anything illegal, he just wanted a chance to get out of the house for something other than school. He hopes to be a good influence on them, but it turns out they weren’t looking for a friend but a fall guy. They commit arson, and unluckily the police show up faster than was expected. They manage to get away but they leave Rowan behind to take the blame for it. Because of his ties to law enforcement, he could have gotten off. But his parents are extremely angry, and refuse to listen when he tries to explain what happened. They aim to teach him a lesson. Instead of sending him to juvie, they send him to this school, where they hope he’ll learn his lesson.

Windstrom Boarding School Empty Re: Windstrom Boarding School

Post by Holleh Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:11 am

Name: Skylar Hope Kennedy
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance: Skylar has straight, dark brown hair that extends five inches below her shoulders, light grey eyes, fair skin, pale pink lips, and a dainty figure. She’s 5’4” and weighs 111 pounds. She wears anything from band tees and ripped/skinny jeans to mini skirts, leggings, tank tops, and camis. Wears mostly black with neon colors. Makeup consists of eyeliner, occasionally eyeshadow, mascara, and foundation.
Personality: Skylar is a stubborn, hardheaded rebel. She hates authority and does whatever it takes to oppose it. She’s not one to take anything seriously; she laughs at people’s problems and is very unsympathetic. However, she is very open-minded and is usually fairly accepting of people, though she gives everyone a snarky attitude. Her temper is surprisingly mild and it takes a lot to make her angry, but once she is, it’s not pretty. She comes off vain and quite conceited, but is actually quite insecure.
History: Skylar was born to an unwed couple and grew up in an apartment for the first few years of her life. Her father walked out on her and her mother when she was four years old. Her mother grew depressed, quit her job, and stayed home to drink around the clock. Often times, her aunt had to stay with them to take care of Skylar and keep her mother under control. At the age of six, Skylar’s mom momentarily recovered from her alcoholism and they moved into a new house, where her mom took up a job as a waitress for a fairly popular restaurant/tavern. Everything was fine until Skylar was twelve years old and her mom began staying out late at night, going to parties, returning home drunk, and bringing different men to the house each week. Because of her mother’s absence, she began to do poorly in school and hung out with the “wrong crowd.” She turned to drugs, alcohol, and sex as ways to try to grab her mom’s attention and forget about her home life.
Reason: After some time of her rebellious behavior, Skylar’s mom decided she didn’t have the time to put up with it any longer and decided to ship her off to the boarding school in hopes that her daughter’s lifestyle would be corrected before it’s too late.

Name: Parker Mason Sweeney
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Straight blond hair that reaches past the ears, blue eyes, pale skin, and lean muscular figure. Parker is 6’1” and weighs 157 pounds. Style consists mostly of graphic tees and wife beaters, jeans, and tennis shoes.
Personality: Parker is an ambitious and determined individual. He tries his best at whatever he does, whether it’s sports or academics. He’s very athletic and loves working out; he can’t really stand being inactive. He’s nice and friendly and loves talking to people, however he has a very hot temper. He hates being belittled or challenged, even if it’s just teasing, and is a bit too competitive. He’s very untrusting and doesn’t put much faith in people; however, when he does get close to someone, he becomes somewhat clingy and any sort of betrayal or wrongdoing triggers his aggression.
History: Parker grew up in an average, middle class family, which consisted of his parents and his two younger sisters. He was fairly popular at school and was in a committed relationship with a girl for nearly two years. Also, at the same time, he was on various sports teams, such as track, soccer, basketball, and swimming; like other sports members, he fell into the habit of taking steroids to increase his athletic performance. He later found out his girlfriend had been cheating on him for half their relationship, and because of roid rage, became violent. He then attended an alternative school for some time, and although he quit taking steroids, his aggressive tendencies continued to develop.
Reason: Parker’s parents tried their best to handle their son’s aggression. He had been improving for a while until one night, his younger sister, Heather, pushed him a little too far and he became violent with her, slamming her against a wall and hitting her in various places, which left bruises all over her body. They thought that sending him away would give him time to evaluate himself and hopefully fix his aggression problems.

Name: Rachel Nicole Chambers
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Appearance: Pale skin, chocolate brown hair, dark brown eyes, and a lean figure. Usually wears sweaters or sweatshirts with dress pants or knee-length skirts and square-rimmed glasses.
Personality: At her job, Rachel is strict and harsh. However, under her tough exterior, she is actually quite sweet and caring. She’s intelligent with a sharp wit and has a low tolerance for disobedience.
History: Rachel grew up in a pretty well-off family and lived an average life. She met her husband, David, in college, and married him when she was 23 years old. Their marriage was great the first couple years, but ever since she had a miscarriage when she was 26, they’ve grown more distant. She was a teacher for six years before she became the principal of Windstrom’s Boarding School for Troubled Youths.
Reason: She’s the principal of the school.

Name: Lauren Sophia Foster
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Lauren has long, wavy, auburn hair, pale green eyes, fair skin, and a dainty figure. She’s 5’6” and weighs 125 pounds. Her wardrobe is fairly simple and casual, mostly consisting of jeans and sweatshirts, sweaters, or solid colored t-shirts.
Personality: Lauren is soft-spoken and reserved. She’s quiet and doesn’t speak unless spoken to first. Cautious and wary around people and fearful of most physical contact with others. However, she’s quite observant, quick-witted, and empathetic as well.
History: Lauren grew up in an average middle class family with two loving parents and an older brother. She had a nice group of friends, perfect grades, and was well-liked by all he teachers and peers. When was fourteen, a freshman in high school, a family friend - her dad’s best friend - raped her while she stayed with him while her parents were out of town and her brother was at a concert. She never told anyone and no one ever found out. Since then, she became anti-social and reserved and lost nearly all of her friends due to isolation.
Reason: After her accident, Lauren’s relationship with everyone around her deteriorated and she barely spoke. Her grades also seemed to decline and she’d have episodes whenever people got too close or touched her, or in any social situation that made her anxious. One episode resulted from when one of her brother’s friends was spending the night and he was coming on to her. Her parents, baffled by her unexplainable behavior, sent her away to the boarding school in hopes that she would return to being the happy, lovable girl she was two years ago.

Name: Zachary Adam Hamilton
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearance: Black hair with red, side swept bangs, light skin, brown eyes, lean muscular figure, and stands at about 5’11.” Has a lip piercing in the center of his lower lip and a tattoo across his right shoulder.
Personality: Zach is rebellious, loud, and daring. He isn’t afraid to do anything that will get the adrenaline pumping, and having an audience makes the action even more worthwhile to him. He likes making other people laugh and smile. He’s stubborn and determined to live the life he wants, even if it goes against his parents’ wishes. While he tries to be a good friend and help others with their problems, he’s not one to open up emotionally and often isn’t reliable.
History: Zach belongs to a rich, prestigious family. His father’s a surgeon, his mother works in fashion merchandising, one of his older brothers is in law school, the other studying microbiology, and his younger sister is at the top of her class and among the most popular students at her school. Sick of his “perfect” life and living up to ridiculously high expectations, Zach began to do whatever he could to rebel. Anything that could make his parents mad satisfied him. At first, he got away with everything - from dying his hair, getting a tattoo, getting his lip pierced, and constantly going out to parties. He fell into the habit of drinking, which he was able to keep secret until he received a DUI. This pushed his parents over the edge and they sent their son away so he could not further shame the family.
Reason: His parents were getting sick of his rebellious behavior, feeling that he was an embarrassment to the family. After his DUI, they couldn’t take it anymore and sent him away to the school in hopes that he would be “corrected.”

Windstrom Boarding School Empty Re: Windstrom Boarding School

Post by BPahl88 Tue Dec 20, 2011 2:28 am

Carmen Dahl
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearence: Exactly like the photo.
Personality: She thinks she’s better than everyone else, more of a badass than anyone. Swears constantly. Carmen is not emotional most of the time, though certain situation/things remind her of her past which trigger deep emotional depression. Not many fears, except her childhood. Carmen will get violent if teased or taunted for her boyish-attitudes. She chooses to be alone most of the time, though interactions with select friends is fairly common. Music and art are passions of her, though her taste in music varies. Her painted art is often blue/grey, however a few of her paintings have been extremely colourful. Carmen doesn't care about achedemics, except her art class which she excels at.
History: Parents abandoned her as a child, put into an foster home at 1 year old, escaped at 8, 10, 11, 12, and 13. Finally put into a boarding school at 14.
Reason: Sent by foster home, too much trouble. No other reason.
Windstrom Boarding School Gg10

John Basilone
Age: 17
Gender: Male
der:Appearance: Exact same as photo, blonde hair, 5”9, noticeable birthmark on ankle
Personality: John is outgoing, far from shy, though when he does not want to talk, he seriously won’t. He plays the violin decently, but no Mozart. He doesn’t get angry that often, only when people provoke him of his musical talent. John is also good at art, though not as good as Carmen, if we want to compare. John’s fascination with certain things can be a bit… awkward to say the least, and these strange interests always seem to change from lights to mouse pads to tissues and so one. He does have a bit of a lisp, though not severe. Whenever the meal is corn beef, John goes ape shit and gobbles it up. He is also very racist/sexist, though jokily, and curses frequently.
History: John was previously at a public middle school, though in 8th grade, his parents died in a small plane crash outside of the coast. Ending up living with his aunt Darla and uncle Seymour, he never felt that living with them was the same as with his parents, so he ended up running away on trains or by foot, and ended up at the boarding school, where he eventually settled.
Reason: He ended up at the boarding school after running away from his aunt and uncle.
Windstrom Boarding School V210

Joshua Legwand
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Appearance: Same as picture except darker hair, almost pure black
Personality: Joshua has extreme OCD, which is demonstrated constantly by him having to do almost everything as an even number, sometimes including saying things. Joshua loves to write, and does so anytime he can. He’s very intrapersonal, keeps things to himself for the most part, though very emotional inside his thoughts and personal journal, which he carries with himself everywhere, which can, of course, be dangerous if accidently forgotten or stolen. Joshua loves nature, especially with a great fascination of small lakes.
History: Joshua’s parents are off on an archeologist dig for several years so Josh was sent to a boarding school not because of misbehavior, but because his extended family all live on different continents. The only big trouble he got into was experimenting with drugs, but ever since he’s never touched one.
Reason: As said before, his parents are on an archeologist dig and Josh had nowhere to go but the boarding school.

Windstrom Boarding School Empty Re: Windstrom Boarding School

Post by Holleh Tue Dec 20, 2011 10:09 pm

A light breeze made the leaves dance and the sun shone brightly on the crowd of adolescents who stood before the podium. Rachel Chambers, the new principal of Windstrom Boarding School for Troubled Youths, stood behind this podium. She adjusted her glasses, which produced a sharp glare under the sun’s light, as she gazed at the many faces she would be ruling for the next school year.

“Welcome,” she said into the microphone. Her voice rang out crisp and clear above the voices of the chatty teenagers. “Quiet down, please.” When the last of the voices faded into a hushed whisper, she continued. “Welcome to Windstrom Boarding School for Troubled Youths. I am your principal, Mrs. Chambers, and I am happy to be working with you this year. I know that many of you are here against your will, and while I do not think this will be the most pleasurable experience for you, it will surely be a valuable one. Each of you are here for one reason or another. You are all, as one might say, delinquents. Here at Windstrom Academy, we will rid you of your bad habits. You shall become respectful and responsible.”

She turned away from the microphone and spoke briefly with a man who stood next to her. A moment later, he began passing booklets out to the teens in the crowd. “Please take a look at the booklets being passed out to you now,” she went on. “These are your guide to the school. They contain campus maps, the school’s rules and policies, studying and health tips, a planner, course objectives and requirements, and other useful information. Most of the rules here are standard, but let’s go over the thirteen main rules together.”

She took a brief pause as some students in the back of the crowd were just receiving their booklets. “First of all, you are not to leave your rooms after ten. All lights must be out by eleven. No running in the hallways, no electronics in your rooms. You can call your family once a week and you may write to them whenever you wish. All computers are in the library and are only to be used for homework purposes. Any kind of alcohol or drug is strictly prohibited. Swearing will not be tolerated. Be respectful to both your teachers and your peers. You may go into town, but only if you have another student with you. The woods are forbidden unless a teacher comes with you. You are responsible for any equipment you use. You must attend every class everyday unless you have a note from the nurse.

“Now, you may wear whatever you like off-campus. However, a uniform is required while you are in the school. These uniforms will be provided for you when you receive your schedules and dorm rooms. Breaking any of our rules will result in punishment. Punishments will vary depending on the teacher, but for the most part, community service is a popular form of disciplinary action here.

“Schedules. All students will take their four core classes before lunch - that is, math, science, English, and history courses. After lunch, you will go to your elective classes. These classes should have already been chosen during the application process; if for some reason you neglected to do so, electives will have been chosen for you. After this, you will attend a sports activity, or some other sort of after-school activity. Make sure you sign up for one by the end of the day, or, like the electives, one will be chosen for you. You may participate in more than one activity, but you must have at least one in your schedule. After the activity, your school day is over and you are free to rest in your dorms or go into town.

“Today, you will receive your schedules, uniforms, and dormitories. Classes will officially start tomorrow. You may now take the next hour to relax and to get to know one another. You are dismissed.”

Windstrom Boarding School Empty Re: Windstrom Boarding School

Post by Hazel Wed Dec 21, 2011 12:00 am

ELLA
That was a lot of rules to remember, Ella thought. But she wasn’t concerned, she was sure there would never be any trouble regarding her. If there was any trouble ever, it was never her fault of course.
She looked around, unimpressed. All these kids were basically criminals, Ella could see trouble written all over their faces. She should know better than to get mixed up with them.

She looked down at the pamphlet given to her unsure what to do with it. Ella stood there awkwardly, not sure whether she ought to go explore or introduce herself to one of these delinquents.

She looked around for a friendly face, and didn’t see one. She pulled her sweater closer to her though it was anything but cold, and looked around. Darn her for being so short. Even with these wedges she was still not tall enough to see over most people.

Ella sighed, folded up the booklet and stuck it in her skirt pocket. The more awkward and alone she felt, the angrier she became. Who were her parents to send her to this place? She was hardly likely to get a good education out of this. Sure her grades weren’t as good as they could have been, but plenty of other kids got C’s and they were sent off to some misfit school. Was this going to go on her record? As she stood there alone, she wondered what she could say to her parents to get them to take her home.

Some of the kids were starting to converse with each other, and a few stood alone like Ella. It was probably easy for delinquents to make friends with other delinquents, but what about Ella? She wasn’t a delinquent, she’d never done anything wrong. She felt tears spring to her eyes but wiped them away quickly. Ella was no crybaby.

She held her head high and pushed through some of the students, she was going to find someone standing alone, and introduce herself, that’s what. She was not going to be the friendless outcast. Especially after being the most popular girl at her old school. No doubt her friend Morgana had stepped up and filled her place. Ella sighed. What she would give to be back at her old school right now. But not even a massive tantrum saved her from being sent away. Her parents just didn’t love her anymore. Oh well, what were parents, she could find other ways to get what she wanted, she was sure of it.

AUBREY
Aubrey had zoned out for almost the entire speech, so when people around her started conversing she was confused for a moment, before realizing they had been dismissed. She flipped through the booklet and then tossed it over her shoulder. Whatever it said, she didn’t need to read it. She looked around, chewing a piece of flavorless gum.

She saw a girl in what appeared to be a really expensive outfit, a ways off, almost in tears, and rolled her eyes. Looks like Daddy’s little princess was a far ways from home. The blonde girl started to walk past her and as she did, Aubrey stick her gum to the ends of her curly hair. A little welcoming present. She pushed a piece of hair behind her ear and kicked a small stone away with a scruffy looking shoe. She sighed, new school’s weren’t so new to her before. She was sure this one wouldn’t be any different, at least she wasn’t under her parents thumb anymore. And she was away from her sister Emma, double plus. This school wouldn’t be so bad. The principle looked like a pushover, and the students, well, there was someone here who she’d mesh well with. First things first, find out who her roommates were, and make sure there wasn’t going to be a problem with them. But of course, they hadn’t been given their information yet. It was like they were being forced to socialize. Well maybe she didn’t want to socialize? The tearful blonde was still wandering around aimlessly, but Aubrey wasn’t desperate enough to introduce herself to that girl. She looked around the crowd, who here looked like her kind of friend?

LANDON

Landon stood at the edge of the crowd, biting his fingernails, a horrible habit he developed last year and hadn’t been able to shake, not that he tried.

The principal had just yammered out some rules and instructions, but he figured everything she said was in the booklet so why bother listening? He knew how to read.

He surveyed his peers, without judgment. He wasn’t here to make friends, so he didn’t care about any of them enough to give them a first impression.
He opened the booklet. It had information about the school, when it was founded, and who founded it. Why it was created in the first place; the list went on. It would have been fascinating information if he had actually cared. What he cared about was getting his room so he could get away from all this noise. No doubt most the people here were better at making friends than he was. A few people stood alone but he didn’t make eye contact with any of them. He was not in the mood for any awkward introductions. He continued to pretend to read the booklet. If he looked busy, maybe no one would bother him. Was he seriously supposed to stand like this for an entire hour? Maybe he could just sneak off somewhere. There had to be someplace he could just sit in quiet for awhile until it was time to get schedules. He slipped away and started walking inconspicuously. Hopefully no one would shout after him. But he didn’t recall hearing in the rules that he had to make friends.

Skylar couldn’t stop smirking during the whole assembly. Her fingers skipped through the pages of the booklet, feeling how smooth they were. This woman has no idea what she’s in for. When the assembly was over, her eyes immediately searched for members of the opposite sex. A bunch of bad girls living with a bunch of bad boys? Now that’s what I call a good time.

She noticed a dark-haired boy who looked like he wasn’t in the mood for any socialization. Well, damn. Suddenly, she caught sight of a stone skipping over to her. She watched it until it came to a halt in front of her feet. Glancing in the direction it came from, her eyes fell on another girl who had yet to socialize. She looks… Alright.

“Well hey there, stone-kicker,” she said as she made her way over to the other girl. “I’m Skylar. You are?”

Parker was pinching the bridge of his nose while he kept his eyes shut, each word from the principal’s mouth echoing faintly in the back of his mind. After the seemingly endless speech, his thoughts reeled back to several months earlier, to the whole ordeal that finally landed him in a place like this.

Christ, you’re an asshole. You knew you’d end up in a place like this. Slowly, he opened his eyes and took in his surroundings. Many were already striking up conversations, and there he was, frozen in place like a lost puppy. Get a grip, man. You were at the top at your old school. No reason for it to be different here.

He noticed a girl pushing her way through the crowd. He just watched her for a moment, deciding if he should initiate a conversation or not. Come on, dude. She’ll probably be glad if you did. Aren’t all the girls? His last thought was followed by a surge of contempt, which he quickly tried to shake off. As if this were his motivation, he strode over to the girl and put on his signature charming smile. “Hey, you look lonely. Can I fix that?”

AUBREY
Aubrey grinned. “Aubrey.” She wasn’t sure what to say, but felt relieved someone sought her out. At this point she was grateful for anyone to talk to. Well almost, she looked over to see the blonde girl, who still had gum stuck in her hair, had also been able to strike up a conversation. She returned her attention to Skylar quickly, and found she seemed pretty legit. Aubrey knew she was a good reader of people.

“Is this your first year here?” Aubrey didn’t know if any of the students were returning or not. It sounded like a new student orientation, but who knew? Maybe all the students had to listen to that same spiel every year. It sounded like something the principal would do. She seemed like just that kind of evil.

ELLA
Ella looked up at the guy. Then looked around, large blue eyes looking for anyone else he could possibly be talking to. There was no one else. Well, why wouldn’t cute guys strike up a conversation with her? She had on more than one occasion been told she was very beautiful, and she believed it.

“Lonely isn’t really the word I’d use, but yeah I guess, something like that.” She stuck out her hand and said, “I’m Ella Jayne Thomas.” He seemed nice enough, maybe. He didn’t look like a delinquent loser, but sometimes delinquency came from a place inside. But when she looked at him, and his friendly smile, she decided, how could someone with such a friendly face, be anything but nice?

“Yup,” replied Skylar. “Momma didn’t feel like dealing with me anymore so she sent me here. Gotta say, it’s the closest to a vacation she’s ever given me. So I’m guessing this is your first year, then?”

Parker stared at Ella’s hand for a moment, head slightly tilted to the side. Am I supposed to shake her hand or kiss it? After his brief pause, he grabbed her hand and gave it a light shake before brushing his lips softly against it. “Well I’m Parker Mason Sweeney, but I like being a bit informal, so Parker will do. Enjoying your stay so far?” He pulled his hand away slowly, keeping his eyes on hers.

AUBREY
"Yeah, it's my first year as well. Last one too if I have any say in the matter. My mom didn't feel like dealing with me anymore either. Honestly, I didn't feel like dealing with her anymore either, so it sort of works, you know?" Aubrey said. "I've never been on a vacation before," she said, looking around. "But I'm starting to think this will come to resemble one. As if I'm really going to do any schoolwork."

ELLA
Ella yanked her hand back quickly, taken aback. She flushed a little and hoped he didn't notice. "No, as a matter of fact, I am not." Then she added. "I think I might come to enjoy it well enough, but for now, I plan to continue being peeved. Why are you here anyways?" Ella asked, the thought that it might be rude to ask, not even crossing her mind.

“I know what you mean,” Skylar replied. “Moms are a piece of work, huh? I’ve never been on a real vacation either, so I plan on making the best of this. Eh, screw the rules, I’m here to cause trouble and have fun. ‘Specially since we got some bad boys here.”

“Don’t you think that’s a little personal, hun?” Parker replied, laughing at her response. “I’m here because of reasons. And no point in being peeved, so you might as well like it, right?”

AUBREY
Cause trouble and have fun? Now that, was a familiar and welcome attitude. "What a coincidence," Aubrey said, "I'm here for the same thing." She looked around and grinned, "Hot, bad boys," she added. Suddenly this whole school thing, didn't look so bad. "You know what, I think we could do some real damage together."

ELLA
Ella frowned. Was he laughing at her? How rude. "Obviously. Everyone is here for something. I hardly think it's much more personal than asking someone their name. Unless of course, you're ashamed, and you don't look like the shameful type." Ella felt wary. If he wouldn't even say why he was here, he must've done something absolutely horrible. What if he murdered someone? Would they even let murderers here?

"Well I didn't say my anger had a point." Ella sighed, she didn't view her stay here to likely warrant any fondness. But after a beat she agreed, "Maybe."

Skylar rubbed her hands together and nodded in agreement. “This is going to be fun,” she assented. “We’ll have these guys begging for us, too. I’d like to see Mrs. Tightass do something about it.”

“You’re right - I’m not the shameful type, not a bit,” said Parker, giving her an innocent smile. “I just got some bad grades, ya know? The ‘rents are real strict about academics and all that, so they flipped shit over my last report card and sent me away. I think they’re overreacting, but what can I do? I mess up and I get a nice little adventure. Sweet deal, if you ask me. So what’s a little princess like you doing here?”

AUBREY
Aubrey chuckled. Mrs Tightass. "You know it," she agreed. She had no doubt they could rule the school if they wanted. What was one principal? She was a nobody, a nobody that was never going to be able to control her, that was for sure.

ELLA
Instantly, Ella was relieved. A few bad grades, well that was nothing. Nice people got bad grades all the time.

"A little adventure? Well, that's one way of looking at it, I suppose." Ella totally understood overreacting parents. It was especially hard being an only child, because then they were extra overbearing. But at least she never had to share anything with snot nosed siblings.

Little princess? Was that supposed to be a compliment or insult? Ella decided not to address it. What was she doing here? Was it the C she got? Or maybe her more frequent temper tantrums. "My parents told me I was out of control, whatever that means," Ella said.

“So…,” said Skylar, absentmindedly rubbing her shoe against the ground. “What activity thingy do you think you’ll be signing up for?”

“Whatever that means, right. Like you don’t know,” replied Parker with a smirk. “Come on now. Drugs? Alcohol? Parties? Sex? Throw someone down a staircase? Arson?” His eyebrows lifted up exaggeratedly as his list grew more ridiculous. He didn’t really feel that she was the “out of control” type.

Aubrey hadn't thought about it much. She hadn't really though about school much at all. She had been trying to enjoy her freedom and not think about it. But now that she had arrived, she supposed it was time to put some thought into it. "I'm not really sure. Probably whatever is the easiest, or the one that has the most pushover teacher. I wouldn't mind doing something with the animals I guess," Aubrey said. "Do you know what you're going to do?"

Ella raised an eyebrow. "Um, ew. Do I look like a druggie to you?" She was rather horrified that he would even suggest she was into something like drugs or sex. Did she look like that kind of girl? She looked down at herself, in reassurance and then looked back to Parker. "I have a bad temper," she said then after a pause added, "And a certain knack of getting what I want, warranting severe consequences when I don't."

“I dunno either,” replied Skylar. “I’m not really drawn to any activity in particular… If they have ping pong or something, maybe that. Ping pong’s fun. Animals could be fun, too, like the horses and stuff.” She paused for a moment and looked around. “Hey, if we wanna rule this place, we should probably mingle a bit, yeah?” She nodded toward Parker and Ella. “Wanna crash their convo?”

Parker couldn’t help but chuckle at her defensiveness. “I was only kidding, geez,” he assured her. He rested his chin in his hand and gave her a scrutinizing look. “So, basically… You’re spoiled? So I wasn’t far off with the whole princess remark.”

"Yeah, I'm sure I'll end up skipping whatever it is anyways. I guess there's a chance I'll like what I choose, but assuming I don't, I'm not too worried." Aubrey looked around at the two having a conversation close by, and chuckled when she saw the blonde girl still had the gum stuck to the ends of her hair. "Sure, why not?" It might be a good idea to establish their position in the school right off the bat. What better way to do that than talk to new people.

"My parents love me and want to buy me nice things," Ella said, as if it wasn't her fault. "I'm their only child, and they have plenty of money, so there's no reason why I can't have what I want." Spoiled had such a bad connotation, but Ella didn't see why. Was it so bad to be given everything you've ever wanted? She was certainly fine with it. "I have been told on occasion that I am a little high maintenance." She shrugged.

“No need to be so defensive, hun. If you like being a princess, there’s nothing wrong with that, right? So chill.” He smiled and his eyes looked off into the distance. “Looks like we’re about to have some company,” he added, nodding in the direction of the two dark-haired girls.

Aubrey followed. "By a few students at a time." They looked sort of like pushovers. But who knows, they could turn out to be fun. After all, looks weren't everything.

"I'm not being defensive, just truthful. I do like getting what I want. Anyone that says otherwise, is a liar." She looked over her shoulder, where two dark haired girls approached. Maybe it was the way they were walking, or expressions on their faces, but Ella didn't think they looked very friendly. But, she would give them a chance, maybe they were just trying to make friends. Ella was trying to think nice thoughts, but she already had her prejudgment. She almost shared this judgment out loud, but then decided, two beautiful girls approaching would warrant different thoughts in a males mind no doubt.

Nervous pale green eyes observed the mass of troubled youths carefully. Lauren Foster, the girl to whom these eyes belonged, gingerly ran a hand through her auburn hair and began to walk through the crowd. Her heart pounded heavily in her ears and her palms were sweating and trembling. She bit her lip nervously and avoided making eye contact with anyone. A part of her wanted to find someone to talk to, perhaps, but the rest of her advised otherwise. These people, she knew, were here for a reason. But you’re here. She wasn’t quick to say she didn’t deserve to be here, but she also knew herself to be harmless. Whereas these people… Who knew what they were capable of? She shook her head, clearing her thoughts, when she noticed a small group of teens who seemed to be talking pleasantly to one another. She took a step toward them but then stopped, questioning her decision. Instead, she just focused her gaze on them, hoping one of them may take notice and invite her over.

Zachary stared at the school’s booklet as he lazily flipped through it. “Blah, blah, blah…” he mumbled to himself, casting his signature smirk. His eyes searched through his fellow students, hoping to pick out someone interesting. He saw a guy with wavy dark brown hair walking by himself. He looked as if he wanted to be left alone, which, to Zachary, was all the more reason to bother him. “Hey, buddy!” he greeted, jogging toward him. “I’m Zach. And you are?”

“So, this is an interesting place, huh?” Skylar said, attempting to get the conversation started. “Did ya’ll read those ever-so-interesting booklets of yours?” She added with a laugh.

“I didn’t quite get to that myself; thought I’d save the fun stuff for later,” Parker replied, nodding at the booklet in his hand.

ROWAN
Rowan stood there as the sun beat down on him causing him to squint in order to see anything. The kids had already grouped off and were getting to know each other. He had hesitated, and now no matter how he made his move, he would be intruding. He crammed his booklet into his pocket, he'd get to that later. He had made up his mind to approach the most friendly looking group, when he saw a red haired girl standing alone. He felt a little sorry for her standing all by herself, looking so nervous. It couldn't hurt to introduce himself. Then maybe they could approach a group together. Then maybe it would be easier that way.
He jogged over to her before she was able to walk away. "Hey," he said, giving her a friendly smile. "I'm Rowan."

NOAH
Noah stopped and looked at the other guy. There was a moment of contemplation where he debated the pros and cons of ignoring the newcomer who called him Zach. He had wanted to be alone, but maybe getting to know someone, wouldn't be so bad. So he introduced himself, "Noah." He felt like something else should follow that, but he didn't know what else to say.

AUBREY
Aubrey shrugged carelessly. "I tossed mine."

ELLA
Ella fixed Aubrey with wide eyes as if she couldn't believe someone would not only litter, but then brag about it. She knew better than to say anything about it though. She shrugged in answer to the question and said, "I'm sure it's all the same stuff that's written on their website." She then realized how uncool that sounded. That she had visited their website beforehand. Of course, it wasn't by choice, but all the same, she figured it probably wasn't something she should've admitted. Blushing, she looked away. Now they probably thought she was stupid.

LAUREN:
Lauren looked up at the guy who greeted her, a bit startled despite his friendly vibe. It took a few tries before she could finally get words out of her mouth. “H-hi, Ro…wan. I’m, um, uh… Lauren.” She rubbed the back of her neck nervously and her cheeks became a bit flushed.

ZACHARY:
“Hello, Noah. I can see you’re quite the chatterbox,” Zach said responded teasingly. “Come on, man, this should be fun, right? Let’s make it fun. New place, new people. The whole shebang! So loosen up a little.”

SKYLAR:
Skylar suppressed a laugh at Ella’s comment. “I bet it’s such a handy-dandy site, huh? Well anyway, whatever rules they have here, I can promise you all this, they will be broken.”

PARKER:
“You did your research - smart girl,” said Parker, trying to make Ella feel better. “If I had that kind of ambition, my grades would be a hell of a lot better than they have been.”
