'Who Am I' Cell Poem

Around all kinds of cells,
I’m a protective shield.
I let things pass
Or make them yield.
Who am I?

I made this for science class. We had to make a poem of a cell organelle and the students had to guess which one it is. So... which organelle is it?

An organelle? It's a part of the cell.

Is it the vacuole?

Is it the cell wall/membrane?

Membrane?

Depending on whether it's an animal or plant cell I guess either Wall (if plant), or membrane (if animal).

I guesseded that firstest. xP

But if it the wall or membrane that would make the poem untrue... because it says "around all kinds of cells" and membrane is only animals and cell is only plant.....so I don't know

Well... the correct answer is cell membrane. (Sorry I didn't post this earlier).

To um... clear some things up, the cell membrane IS around ALL types of cells. Both eukaryotic (Plant and animal) and prokaryotic (Bacteria). So, the poem is truw for that line. A plant cell has a cell wall, yes, but it also has a cell membrane. An animal call has only a cell membrane.

The cell membrane protects the inner cell (2nd line is true.)
The cell membrane lets things come into or out of the cell. (3rd Line is true.)
And it also can stop things from passing through it. (4th Line true)

I guess I did kow that. I should haha I'm in Biology. I confuse myself sometimes
