The World Is Ending

The world is ending
The day was bound to arrive
Its past time for mending
Soon no one shall survive.
The sky has turned dark
The trees have all died
Even the seas show a mark
As they have all dried.
There’s no hope left
Chaos and destruction prevail
Only to survive are the deft
For even the strong’s will has set sail.
The world is ending
There’s no turning back
The day has long past for mending
It’s time we realize what it is we lack.

The day I wrote this, I was convinced humans were
bringing about their own demise. I'm still convinced
about that.
